After our multi-campus university system adopted QM, our instructional designers/technologists realized that a full-day workshop is a hard sell for many faculty. We wanted ways to introduce QM’s rubric to people who might be turned off by the major commitment of completing APPQMR. We used theatrical vignettes to do it.
At the QM conference, we performed one of our vignettes and led participants through the debriefing process. We then led participants in an analysis of how they could adapt the script for their own institution. Both scripts are included here, as well as the discussion prompts. Script 2 is the one that was presented at QM, but Script 1 is also inspired by real events and may be applicable at your institution.
