This Making a Difference for Students award recipient will share how her college went from the possibility of losing the ability to teach online to radical changes resulting in a strong program that ensures true quality in students’ online education.

As personalized learning becomes the latest educational buzzword, what about the outcome? What if the student is the driver and educators ask students what they want to be assessed on? The poster session will demonstrate techniques used for student reflections.

Hey, we want to put a course online…next term…the instructor has never taught online before…okay bye! Sound familiar? We are a small school at a large university and are creating a policy for online course development, so we meet QM standards, and increase quality assurance and faculty success.

Videos can make learning come alive. Especially if they are teacher created. One misconception is that Closed Captioning (CC) is just for deaf and hard of hearing. What about students who are not auditory learners or students whose native language is not English? Closed Captioning can help all learners, but not all CC videos are created equal. Participants will learn how to search for CC videos on both YouTube and Google and evaluate it for accuracy.
