This workshop focuses on practical instructional design principles for online learning environments. It guides participants through the process of aligning learning objectives, activities, and assessments while incorporating appropriate resources and technologies. The workshop emphasizes designing for learner agency, implementing formative assessment strategies, and maintaining updated relevant course content.

This workshop aligns with NSQ Standard E: Instructional Design.

Learning Objectives
  1. Explain the interactive relationship between learning objectives, activities, and assessments.
  2. Evaluate and select learning resources that support state learning objectives.
  3. Design activities and assessments that engage the learners while providing evidence of mastery of learning objectives.
  4. Create learning activities that offer students choice in demonstrating their understanding of course concepts.
Prerequisites

Ability to read and write standard business English.

What Participants Need
  1. 10-15 hours to complete at their own pace during the three-week period
  2. Computer with internet access
Special Notes

Workshops open monthly on the first Wednesday and close after three weeks. The work is self-paced with a portfolio assignment submitted to a facilitator upon completion (prior to workshop closure).
