The focus of this session will be on Fall 2021 and beyond. What will be the status and role of online learning in the post-pandemic era, when effective immunization reduces the threat of spread to the point that "normal" life can resume?
Will campus and community-based resistance to online learning gain momentum?
Will hybrid or hyflex models combining online and in-person instruction gain currency and enable students and faculty to shift delivery modes seamlessly by preference or in any future crisis?
Will there be demand for new or improved tools to address some of the shortcomings of remote courses?
These and other questions will be addressed in the session, based on CHLOE 4 and CHLOE 5 results and other indicators. Participants will be asked to indicate whether each of the trends discussed is reflected at their home institution, invite them to comment on the mid-term and long-term impact of each of the trends discussed, and invite them to identify additional post-pandemic trends in evidence at their home institution.
