Full Description
"Completing the Course Map is 90% of designing a course. Once that's done, the rest of designing the course falls into place much less stressfully. "
Faculty professional development participant
Amen! We couldn't have said it better! Additional positive comments by faculty participants about the value of course mapping, suggests we are on the right track requiring them to complete their course maps before revising or developing their blended or online courses.
In the "Key to the Quality Highway: Course Mapping" session, the presenters will share how course mapping is being used in faculty professional development as a key strategy in the planning phase of course development. The presentation will clarify their definition of course mapping, explain how it is being integrated into faculty professional development, describe how faculty are using course mapping, share course mapping examples, provide a QM-aligned course mapping template, and address the benefits and challenges of course mapping. Additional data about course mapping collected via an informal survey in the three months leading up to the Quality Matters Conference 2015 will serve as a springboard to engage session attendees in a conversation about models, strategies, and resources for course design they are using with faculty.
